SSL Certificate Checker

Check a website’s TLS certificate, expiry date and hostname match.

Enter a public hostname without a URL or port. We connect on HTTPS port 443.

Enter a value above to start. No account needed.

How this check works

We make a TLS connection using the supplied hostname and inspect the certificate served from one public address. We check its validity period, hostname and trust status.

What this check does not prove

Different regions or servers can serve different certificates. This is a certificate check, not a complete TLS configuration or website security audit.

Why is it called SSL if it checks TLS?

SSL is the older name still commonly used for website certificates. Modern secure connections use TLS.

Does a valid certificate mean a website is trustworthy?

No. It helps protect the connection and establish control of the hostname. It does not prove the business or content is legitimate.
